Yorke: There’s More To Come

The 34-year-old signing from Australian A-League outfit, Sydney FC, made his debut on Saturday against Leicester. He came on for the injured Daryl Murphy after 15 minutes.

Yorke went three weeks without a game before playing 75 minutes for the Black Cats on Saturday. He was greeted with a standing ovation but despite his best efforts – he could not get a debut goal.

‘There will be a lot more to come from me once I am fully match-fit,’ Yorke revealed. ‘Once I get myself up and running and back adjusted to the pace of the football once again, I will improve.

‘The pace of the game in the Championship is much faster than that in Australia and at the moment I have not had too many opportunities to train with the lads.

‘I am still learning about the players around me – and they are learning about me – and once we are used to each other and know what each other are like, you will start to see us get better.’
