Uncertain Futures For Some Players

Gus Poyet says some Sunderland players face uncertain futures as out of contract players put things on hold until end of season.

There are eight players who will be coming to the end of their contracts and it will depend on whether the Black Cats stay up or not as to whether some get contracts, while others will be left to walk away from the club.

Up to press none of the players concerned have been to the manager to try and seal new contracts.

But that`s what Poyet wants, concentration fully on keeping the club in the top flight, not worrying about their own futures before one job is done.

“I have not told any of the players who are out of contract that they are free to look for another club this summer,” he told the Chronicle.

“No-one has come to me and asked me about it.

“I didn`t want to start talks anyway because it can be taken the wrong way if you are not careful.”

Jack Colback, Phil Bardsley, Keiren Westwood, Carlos Cuellar, Seb Larsson, Craig Gardner, Andrea Dossena and Oscar Ustari are all in the closing stages of their contracts.

Good, hope they dont get contracts in the end, they’re all crap and there’s no passion. They think we are down and they have given up.

Bardsley and Colback are worth a contract if they want one but the rest should be shown the door, too much dead wood at this club and we all know it really

There is only one player who would bother me if he left and thats Mannone, the rest can go take a jump
