Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is looking to address the problem of his side not scoring enough goals when the transfer window opens in a few days time.

And one player that the club have been linked with again is Chelsea’s struggling winger Mohamed Salah, who has not managed to set Stamford Bridge alight so far.

Creating the chances has been a major part of the problem at the Stadium of Light and the Chelsea man, who has hardly featured for the club since his £11 million move from Basel some twelve months ago, as someone who could help out in that department.

Of course Sunderland would be facing competition for the player, not only would Liverpool renew their interest, but Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan would also be taking a long look at the situation.

One advantage that Sunderland hold is they would be almost certain to give the Egypt international regular first team football and that’s something he may not get at a bigger club.
