say 78% of you in last week’s poll.

With the news reported in the media of an imminent bid from Niall Quinn and Irish backers to takeover the club, last week’s poll asked you if you thought Quinn would succeed. The vast majority of you felt he would, with the final results,

Quinn’s takeover bid, will it succeed?
-Yes 78%
-No 22%

With Quinn yet to confirm or deny these rumours, all this talk is of course still simply conjecture. However with most national media organisations reporting a Quinn-headed consortium and the lack of a denial from the big man, one must only assume that there is a strong element of truth in these rumours.

Some papers even report that he is hoping to be in charge by the end of the season, and others suggest that a bid will be confirmed once Sunderland’s relegation is officially secured. Quinn’s silence has been explained by some by the suggestion that he has signed a confidentiality agreement.

Sunderland fans will be hoping that all is resolved one way or another soon enough, after this season of turmoil this would be a perfect end, allowing us all to start next season on a high.

But sticking with this torrid season for now, this week’s poll asks, who is Sunderland’s player of the year?

I know, it’s a tough one…
