Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is looking to keep hold of young goalkeeper Jordan Pickford despite interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

United are said to have had their eye on Pickford for some time because of reports of David de Gea may move.

United scouts had the England under 21 international watched while in a tournament in Toulon, the Daily Star reports.

The 22 year old also has admirers at Tottenham who see the youngster as big news in the future.

Pickford made three senior appearances for the Black Cats last season when he was recalled from a loan, he was handed a four year contract in January and will keep regular keeper Vito Mannone on his toes next term.
