Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson could be on his way out of the Stadium of Light.

So far, the 28 year old has not been in any talks with the club about a new contract for next season and just to increase the speculation about his future, he was not included in the squad that lost to West Ham United on Monday night.

Rumour has it that an un-named Premier League club came in for Larsson during the January transfer window but they were told he was not or sale. Borussia Monchengladbach and Fiorentina are both also said to be keen.

The player’s agent, Per Jonsson, told the Sunderland Echo: ‘I met Gus Poyet in December and he wanted to prolong Seb’s stay, but at that point, they were adrift, so we agreed that none of the parties want to commit to anything at that stage.

‘We wanted to see if they were going to stay in the Premier League. Teams that are relegated obviously need to change their wage structure.

‘After that, there have not been any more talks.’

It just maybe that the club are waiting to see which league they are in next season before sorting out the playing staff.

But there will be lots of interest in the player if he is let go on a Bosnan.
