Colback To Move On

Sunderland had hoped to keep Jack Colback, in fact they offered him a new contract, but the midfielder seems destined to move on.

PA Sports “understands” that offers will be considered for the 23-year-old following his decision to turn down a new contract offered to him, with him now moving into the final year of his existing deal.

New midfield recruits this summer appear to make it unlikely that Colback would get his chance in his preferred position, and this is behind his decision to opt against signing a new contract.

Colback had a good season last time round, filling in as an emergency fullback, and keeping him would be good but if he wants out you have to let him go.
