Sunderland striker Fabio Borini believes that a win over Newcastle today will give Sunderland the boost they have needed to start their season.
Borini is no stranger to triumph against the Magpies, he has already found the net in two derby wins and the win in October 2013 came with Sunderland being in a similar position.
Then a win over Newcastle was their first of the season after having no luck from the first nine games and they went on to finish the season in a safe position.
Borini told Sky Sports: ‘The three points are always important every week because that’s what we need to get up the league. The first time I was here, it was an even worse situation.
‘Obviously, we need to worry because we haven’t won yet, but to have a derby in this situation and to have the possibility to win the derby is a great chance to take.’
