Wickham sent for scan

Sunderland striker Connor Wickham is set to undergo a scan on the knee he injured in the defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The 18 year-old forward was taken off after just four minutes of the Manchester United clash and replaced by Ji Dong-Won.

Following speculation that the former Ipswich Town forward could be out for the season, the club have confirmed that at this stage the England U21 cap is only about to undergo a scan at this point.

Here’s hoping it isn’t anything overly serious, the last thing we could do with right now is another loss of striker.
