Sunderland’s on loan winger Adnan Januzaj could be back in action a lot quicker than anticipated according to reports.

The player is with the Black Cats for the season, but has missed games through suspension and injury. He had just returned from a ban for being sent off against Shrewsbury in the League Cup, but in the game against Crystal Palace he was taken off with what proved to be an ankle problem.

It was announced that he would be missing from the side for six weeks, but manager David Moyes says that he could be back a lot sooner.

It was originally though that the Belgian would be able to make his return in the away game at Bournemouth on November 5th, but before that comes, there are clashes against West Ham, Southampton and Arsenal and Sunderland’s hopes are that he will be back for one or more of those games.

Moyes told the Chronicle live website: “Adnan is feeling much better and he doesn’t think he will be out as long as we initially thought. Hopefully, we can get him back sooner.

“We played QPR the other week and we had everybody fit, aside from Seb (Larsson) and Vito (Mannone).

“The other players were OK and then suddenly we are into the last couple of games and lost four or five players.

“We will get the injured players back, though.”
