It seems that reports about Sam Allardyce coming back to Sunderland that have been rife over the last few days, are well wide of the mark.

Big Sam left Sunderland just before the start of the season to take the England job, but now that he has been removed from that post, and speculation of Sunderland being taken over has lead to reports that the former manager would be coming back.

But the Chronicle live website reports today that the popular choice for the masses will not be removing David Moyes from his job.

They say that although there was tentative enquiries about the sale of the club made in the summer, there will be no Chinese consortium taking over at the Stadium of Light in the near future.

And that means that Sam will not be coming back as their leader.

Despite the poor start to the season under Moyes, the former Everton manager has been backed by the clubs chief executive Martin Bain and that makes any likelihood of him being sacked minimal.
