The lad in question is 22 year old Tiago Ilori who is currently on loan with French side Bordeaux of Ligue 1, according to the Sunderland Echo.
The youngster has been with Liverpool since joining from Sporting in 2013, but since his arrival on Anfield he has made just three appearances for the under 21 side.
He has however, as well as his loan spell in France, been on loan at Granada of La Liga where he has made nine appearances.
His contract with Liverpool ends in 2018.
