Sunderland’s Emanuele Giaccherini is in the news today, it is being rumoured that he could be on his way to Chelsea in a surprise move.

The 30 year old who has struggled to make an impact at the Stadium of Light is currently on loan at Bologna in the Italian league for the full season.

The Sunderland Echo reports that the player is doing somewhat better there and has scored six goals from just 17 appearances.

Its likely that Antonio Conte, the current manager of the Italian national side would be interested in bringing Giaccherini to Stamford Bridge, should he become the man to take over from current Blues boss Gus Hiddink.

If the Italian was to go to Chelsea, it would be to replace Eden Hazzard, but first they would have to put him off returning to his native country to ply his trade in the summer.

Its all if’s and maybe’s at the moment.
