Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is looking at coming in again for Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole.

It will be his third attempt to sign the 25 year old who he first tried to get when he was the manager of Liverpool, the Metro reports.

On transfer deadline day Benitez made bids in an attempt to take the midfielder overseas, but at the time it was thought that a deal was being struck with Stoke City, which we now know fell through.

The Potters made a £5 million move for the man that Steve Bruce brought to the Stadium of Light just over four years ago.

Current manager Gus Poyet has said that he wants to keep the player on Wearside but speculation will not lie down after he signed Liam Bridcutt from his old club, Brighton.
