Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is hoping that he can steer his side to Wembley once again, this time he wants a bash at the FA Cup.

Last season Poyet saw his side reach Wembley for the League Cup final in which they were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City.

But this time around in the FA Cup, top teams like City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have already fallen by the wayside.

If Sunderland can beat Fulham tonight, there is just Bradford to beat to reach the quarter finals, but they will only get there if they can vastly improve on the form that saw them draw 0-0 with Fulham last week.

Poyet told the Gazette “It would be nice if we could repeat the cup run that we had last year.

“I love the FA Cup.

“We are going to try to win tonight and it is a great option for us this year. We are going to try as soon as we can to get back to Wembley.”
