The referee for Tuesday night’s game at Hull City is Mike Dean of the Wirral.

Dean has already been in charge of one Sunderland game this season, that was the home game against Stoke City in the Capital One Cup in September.

Sunderland lost the game 2-1 and seven players were booked including John O’Shea, Liam Bridcutt, Jack Rodwell and Jozy Altidore.

So far this season Dean has been in charge of 26 games and in that time he has shown 114 red and six yellow cards.

Dean’s assistants will be Stuart Burt and Darren Cann, the fourth official will be Darren Bond.
