The referee for Saturday’s lunchtime game with Everton this Saturday will be Wiltshire’s Lee Probert.

This is the first time Sunderland have met up with Probert this season, although last season saw him take charge of three of our games.

He was the man in the middle for the
3-1 defeat away to Crystal Palace in August, in which he sent off John O’Shea and booked Steven Fletcher.

He then took charge of the 1-0 victory at Everton on Boxing Day, this time he sent off Everton keeper Tim Howard.

The third game was against Everton again in April, this time it was at the Stadium of Light and this time Everton won 1-0. No players were sent off, but five saw yellow cards including Phil Bardsley, Adam Johnson and Seb Larsson.

This season Probert has been in charge of 16 games in all divisions and he has shown 52 yellow cards and four red.

Running the lines for Probert will be Ronald Ganfield and Andrew Garratt, the fourth official will be Craig Pawson.
