Justice Done For Wes Brown.

Sunderland have succeeded in getting the red card shown to Wes Brown at Manchester United on Saturday rescinded.

Referee Roger East showed a straight red card to Brown as he thought he was the player who brought down Rademal Falcao in the box, but after looking at replays it turned out that John O’Shea was the culprit.

Referees’ body the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) released a statement after the match insisting it was not a case of mistaken identity and that East did in fact mean to send Brown off.

East believed he saw contact from O’Shea and Brown and went for a Brown sending off as he saw that as the crucial foul, not that I personally believe that for one moment.

However, an independent regulatory commission has cleared Brown of any offence and his red card has been made to magically vanish (hurrah!)

A statement on the FA’s official website read: ‘An Independent Regulatory Commission has today upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Wes Brown.

‘The Sunderland defender was dismissed in the game against Manchester United on Saturday 28 February 2015 for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

‘Therefore, his one-match suspension has been withdrawn with immediate effect.’

So get stuffed at the same time you’re getting your eyes tested Mr East.

About time something went right but I’ve seen somewhere that he might not play against Hull anyway.
