Hartlepool United boss Colin Cooper is rumoured to be mulling over trying to sign young Sunderland striker Mikael Mandron on a loan deal.
The 29 year old Frenchman joined Sunderland in 2011, he could have ended up being at Victoria Park last season, but joined up for a spell on loan with Fleetwood Town. There he made 13 appearances for the Cod Army, nine of which came from of the sub’s bench, and he scored just once.
But he played well and the experience did him the power of good as he has managed to score almost a goal per game in the pre-season tour of Portugal.
