Sunderland are waiting for news on USA international Lynden Gooch after the player was stretchered off during the under-23 side’s draw with Tottenham.
Midway through the first half of the 2-2 draw, Gooch landed awkwardly on his ankle and after being treated on the field for some time, he was eventually taken off much to the concern of watching David Moyes.
Gooch had impressed up to that point in the game as he tried to show that he is ready for the first team once again, he even had a hand in Sunderland’s first goal.
Coach Andy Welsh was quoted as saying by the Sunderland Echo: “It was disappointing for Lynden.
“We`ll have to assess him and see how it is.”
There was, however, better news for Adnan Januzaj, who grabbed a goal before being substituted in the 54th minute.
