Sunderland duo Adam Johnson and Connor Wickham have been called up by the senior and U21 England managers respectively.
New-signing Johnson joins Wickham in an international call-up after the hulking forward was selected in Stuart Pearce’s U21 squad yesterday afternoon.
Johnson will link-up with Roy Hodgson’s England squad for a World Cup 2013 Qualifying double-header next month.
The Three Lions kick off their 2014 qualifying campaign with an away tie against Moldova next Friday (the 7th) and follow that with a home tie against Ukraine the following Tuesday at Wembley (the 11th).
Wickham links up with Pearce’s squad once more for a trip to Azerbijan on September 6 and a clash with Norway in Chesterfield on September 10.
