Competition For Striker

Bas Dost (what an interesting name!) is one of a number of names linked with Sunderland at the moment, in fact “sources on the continent” claim Sunderland are very interested.

Impressive goalscoring form for Heerenveen saw Wolfsburg snap up Bas Dost on a five-year contract for £7m last summer, but the striker had struggled to hold down a regular place under a different manager to the one that signed him.

Competition for the 24-year-old Dutchman would come from Premier League rivals Villa, Swansea and West Ham.

If that competition wasn’t enough the reported £7.5m asking fee from the German outfit probably would be!
