Sunderland midfielder Cabral has spoken about his move to Genoa and is quite happy about the deal.

The player signed for Sunderland in the summer from FC Basel when Paolo di Canio was in charge but neither the Italian or Gus Poyet have shown much interest in playing him.

But Cabral wants first team football and the club have revealed that he will be going to Genoa until the end of the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia the 25 year old said: ‘I am here to help Genoa and to play.

‘Last year I’ve played in the Europa League and playing in that tournament again is my aim and I want to help Genoa make that.’

Cabral’s last action came in a 3-2 League Cup victory over MK Dons in August.
