Run the risk of this being seen out and him leaving on a free next summer or keep plugging away in the hope that his mind will be changed? Which, perhaps, it isn’t going to be!
One such tempting offer, should this be true, could come in from former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce with the Sunday papers reporting an offer could be made with him in search of much needed midfield reinforcements and his familiarity with Bruce could be the key to a deal.
If there is even any truth would any offer match the rumoured £4.5m that Sunderland are holding out for though?
