Fabio Borini’s time at Sunderland this season may open the door to him getting more of a chance to shine at Liverpool hopes the striker.

Borini came to the Stadium of Light on a season long loan in August after he found his first season at Anfield difficult because of injuries.

And since he became a regular in the Sunderland first team, he has been putting in some eye catching performances with his nine goals and the part he played in keeping the Black Cats in the top flight, other clubs sre looking to grab the player on loan next term.

But Borini is hoping his career can be brought on at Anfield, he told the Daily Mirror: ‘Liverpool need a bigger squad because you can’t play four competitions with the same 11 players.

‘But it is now down to the Liverpool point of view and their sporting director. It is not down to my words.

‘It depends on what Liverpool say. I can say anything definite now because anything is possible. There is a World Cup coming up so a lot depends on the national team and whether I am selected, then see what is happening.’

Borini joined Liverpool from Roma for £10,500,000 in July 2012.
