A confident Jones was speaking after Sunderland drew 1-1 with Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.
It could have even been a victory for the Black Cats had they had a little more luck in front of goal as they had several chances to add to a first minute lead given to them by Connor Wickham after Asmir Begovic slipped up in the Stoke goal.
Charlie Adam struck in the 27th minute to bring the sides level, but both were guilty of missing good chances throughout the second half.
And with Hull and Leicester winning, the Black Cats slipped into the relegation zone.
Jones told Sky Sports: “There`s still a long way to go. It`s going to be difficult, we know that, but I think we have more than enough talent in the changing room to take on the teams that we`ve got and get the points that we need to be safe.
“The fans have been brilliant all season, home or away, rain or shine they have been amazing. We never doubt that the fans are going to be there in numbers to support us.’
So now we have to beat Southampton and Leicester at home, we will get nothing away from home
