Sunderland have recalled Connor Wickham back from his loan spell with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Wickham has been producing the goods while at Hillsborough; he has scored eight goals in the eleven games he has played.
Sunderland have been lacking in goals coming from the striker’s positions and the England under 21 international could feature against Stoke City at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday, a game that the Black Cats really do need to win.
There also speculation around the club that Wickham may have been brought back to use in an exchange deal with Brighton, although we do stress that this is just speculation at the moment.
