It has broken today that Sunderland have had an offer of £13m accepted by Ipswich Town for wonder-kid Connor Wickham.
The talks are only at an early stage and other clubs are expected to join in the bidding war. Clubs like Liverpool, who Wickham supported as a young kid, Spurs and Arsenal are all watching this deal unfold very closely.
The deal is reported to be £5m up front and then the rest paid in instalments later and once certain targets have been reached by the young English striker.
Wickham would not get as many opportunities for a bigger club such as Liverpool and this is something he may consider when he decides his future.
He could play regularly for Sunderland and become a better prospect with Gyan to help support him during games.
