Former Sunderland keeper Keiren Westwood, who was released at the end of the season has found a new club in the shape of Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday.

Westwood has signed a two year contract with the Owls who are delighted to get their man despite interest from Blackburn Rovers and Brighton.

The 29-year-old had a bit of a rough time at the Stadium of light with injuries and also being kept out of the side by Simon Mignolet and Vito Mannone.

So after just 18 league starts it was decided not to offer the keeper a new deal, but in Sheffield Wednesday he now has the chance to resurrect his career.
