The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.

An indifferent start to the campaign continued for Birmingham when Blues suffered a surprise loss at the Pirelli Stadium – Burton’s win was a first for Nigel Clough’s side this campaign.

Villa Park witnessed another first when Aston Villa won for the first time in the Championship, beating Norwich 4-2 with Derby doing enough to see of Bolton, of course returning to the second tier this season.

Fulham’s unbeaten start ended, albeit with successive draws, as Sheffield Wednesday beat the Cottagers at Craven Cottage for a first three point return. A win was secured for Preston when beating Reading 1-0 at Deepdale.

A record breaking Cardiff start to a campaign continued as the Bluebirds beat Wolves 2-1 at Molineux to make it four wins out of four and ending the home sides’ previous winning run.

Sunderland’s first defeat as a Championship side came at the Stadium of Light when Leeds, one of boss Simon Grayson’s former clubs, went away with a 2-0 win in Saturday evenings kick off.

Here’s a round-up of the Championship results.
