Tottenham Visit Stadium of Light

Tottenham are the visitors to the North East this weekend and both sides will be looking for maximum points for different reasons.

Tottenham are still interested in getting into Europe once again and although they are sitting in sixth place in the league at the moment, even though their manager seems to be under pressure from the media, they are still looking at finishing in the top four.

And with Manchester United looking like they are out of the race for the top, its a good season for Tottenham to go for it.

Tottenham slipped up a couple of weeks ago against Newcastle United and then they were hammered 6-0 at Manchester City, but since then they have been back on track with wins over Fulham and Tromso and a draw with United.

They will come to the Stadium of Light fancying their chances but if the lads can put in the sort of performance that they did against Chelsea then its anybodies game.

Vital Quotes:

Mark Lawrenson: ‘Sunderland have a real go at teams at the Stadium of Light – they did it again in their defeat against Chelsea – and it is clear they will be relying on their home form if they are going to have a chance of staying up.

‘It is a big ask for them to get anything out of this game, though.’

Sunderland Team News:

Sunderland will be without Carlos Cuellar for this match because of injury.

There are concerns over the fitness of goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and Mobido Diakite.
