Sunderland manager Roy Keane is playing it cool as his looks to strengthen his side by at least three more signings.

The three areas in which Keane is suggested to be looking to strengthen are left back, centre back and centre forward.

Speculation suggests he is interested in the following players David Healy, James Beatie, Benni McCarthy, Anton Ferdinand, Michael Ball and Mikael Silvestre.

Keane is however remaining tight lipped about which players the club is in talks with, Kane told sky sports “There’s been lots of speculation every day and we’ve been linked with hundreds of players and I don’t think we’ll be signing all of them, I’ve no comment to make on speculation.”

“If we sign any decent players we’ll release a statement, but there’s no point me talking about players who might or might not be coming to the football club.”

“We’ve got an agreement with three clubs for three players, and possibly maybe four today, so I hope something will happen in the next 24-48 hours.”

“Agreeing with the club is sometimes the easy part, it’s trying to get over the finishing line with the players regarding personal terms.”

“It’s out of my hands. We’ve made some great offers for players and good deals with clubs. I’m quite relaxed about it.”

“If players want to come and we can take them to another level, fantastic, but if they want to stay at the clubs they’re at, good luck to them, it’s not a major problem.”

“I’ve heard managers say certain players aren’t for sale, trust me, if the price is right then everybody is for sale. There is nothing happening with that yet, but again we’ll see in the next few days.”
