Return Of The Turner

Michael Turner, who has missed action since colliding with the post against Everton can see light at the end of the tunnel with his injury.

Hopefully with Turner and Bramble making a quick recovery we can have all defenders back by January.

Turner told the Sunderland Echo: “I`m seeing the specialist in Bradford next Tuesday, when they`ll take the brace off and, all being well, that will be the end of that phase of rehabilitation.

“Then it will be a case of spending weeks building up the muscle again and getting my fitness back with a view to coming back some time in the New Year.”

He has not made any definate date of recovery but will be working hard in training to get back to full fitness.

“I don`t think that would be a good idea,” said the former Hull defender. “I think that once you get into that side of predicting when you`ll be back you`re only in danger of putting pressure on yourself and maybe setting yourself up for a disappointment.

“The injury is of the kind that you`d be unwise to try rushing back from.

“You`ve got to just go with the programme and allow the ligaments time to heal.”
