Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is beginning to sound like a record now, constantly repeating that he is still confident of signing Fabio Borini. And now he is doing it again.
The fee for the striker (£14 million) has been agreed for sometime, but there has been stalling by Borini who at one time said he wanted to stay with Liverpool.
But Poyet has once again said that he is confident that Borini is still coming to Wearside, and it will happen before the season starts this weekend.
Poyet told Sky Sports News: ‘The idea was to have the deal done a few weeks ago, but for different reasons it was impossible, but we are confident that maybe in the next few days we can do something about Fabio.
‘I’m always thinking that we can add quality players, especially the ones we know, and let’s hope that confidence I am trying to bring to the club is confirmed…with the signing of Borini.’

I’m no expert on these matters but I would have thought that if he was going to sign, then he’d have done it by now.
We can all moan about how long this is taking, but I dont know many fans who don’t want him to come to the club. If it happens I will be glad.
