Manager Chris Coleman has revealed that Liverpool loanee Ovie Ejaria is likely to miss out for Sunderland when we face Brentford this weekend, but Crystal Palace loanee Jonny Williams could be set for a return following his injury issues.

21 year old Ejaria has made two appearances following his loan switch from Anfield on deadline day but he pulled up in training this week, and whilst it appears the injury isn’t too bad, he’s to be assessed further and is unlikely to be risked.

Williams, following his spell on the sidelines, has been back in training and getting minutes for the Under 23 side to bring his fitness back up and Coleman could turn to the Welsh international this weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media, Coleman explained.

‘It looks like we`ll lose Ovie Ejaria. He pulled up in training on Wednesday so he`s very doubtful unfortunately but we`ll have Jonny Williams back and in contention.’

We continue to be without Lamine Kone and Paddy McNair, but progress is being made and Coleman commented numbers wise it was probably the best it has been since he walked through the door.

‘Adam Matthews has had a good weeks training and so has Callum McManaman. Paddy McNair is going to play today for the under-23s because he just needed more minutes, but if comes through that fine, he`ll be back in contention for Tuesday night.’

Adding.

‘Lamine has had one session with us and he came through it okay, but we just think Saturday is a little bit early for him and next week should be okay. The numbers are probably the best since I`ve been here.’
