Young defender John Egan has joined League Two outfit Bradford City on a two-month loan deal.
The 20 year-old Irishman will remain at Valley Parade until January 5 2013.
Bradford boss Phil Parkinson is without the services of centre-halves Luke Oliver and Andrew Davies for the foreseeable future after the latter picked up an injury recently.
Parkinson moved quickly to secure Ireland U17, U19 & U21 cap Egan on a two-month deal after watching him during Sunderland’s U21 clash against Aston Villa last Thursday.
Speaking to bradfordcity.co.uk, Parkinson spoke about his new addition:
‘He’s competitive and looks both decent in the air and on the ground. I like what I’ve seen of him,’ admitted Parkinson.
‘We’ve done our homework on him and we’ve heard that his commitment and desire is first rate.
‘Whenever we bring a player into the club, we always talk about getting the right characters in. John certainly seems to fit that bill.’
Good luck John!
