Sunderland take on Leicester City at the Stadium of Light this weekend and the match officials have been announced.

Referee: Andre Marriner
Assistants: S Beck, A Garratt
Fourth official: J Simpson

The last time Marriner was in charge of a Sunderland game it ended in a 3-0 victory for the Black Cats, this was in April’s game away to Norwich City, a win that went a long way to keeping Sunderland in the top flight.

Scorers that day were Fabio Borini, Jermain Defoe and Duncan Watmore, four players were shown yellow cards, Andre Wilson, Martin Olsson, Lee Cattermole and Wahbi Khazri.

This season Marriner has been in charge of 13 games in various competitions so far, in that short time he has shown 54 yellow cards and five red, this includes a Europa league game between Panathinaikos and Ajax in which nine yellow cards were shown and three red. The Dutch side won the game 2-1.

Last time out Marriner was in front of the TV cameras when he took charge of Liverpool’s 2-0 EFL cup win over Leeds United at Anfield. Just two yellow cards were shown, one for each side.
