Sunderland`s stand in manager Ricky Sbragia was delighted with his first taste of victory as Sunderland gaffer.

With goals coming from a Jones, Reid and Cisse the Blackcats dominated and deserved all three points.

Sbragia told Sunderland`s official site “It’s not a bad three points for us, it was every important.”

“The goal made a big difference. In the first 15 minutes we were a bit edgy and then we got the goals.”

“The front two played extremely well and as a unit they worked well together.”

“I said to Kenwyne and Djibril before the game that they could win it for us, if they worked hard. The front two set the standards and got their rewards.”

“There’s still a lot to be done to get Kenwyne fully match fit and then get his understanding going with Djibril.”

“Kenwyne today was excellent, he was all over the place; but then you have got to think of the danger Djib poses with his pace. As individuals, they are a threat; but we have got to get them going as a pair.”

“Credit to Dean, he said he wasn’t fit before the game and Teemu came in and did well. He has been unlucky not to be playing regularly. He’s a good professional and he knows what the game’s about.”

“I’m not even thinking about the job. I’ve been asked to take it over, we have won a game and we have a big game next week, at Hull. All I’m doing now is focusing on the Hull game. It’s one step today but there’s a lot to go.”

“Today has shown that if we work well together for a team, we can win games and do well.”

“I’m happy to step in and do what I’m doing. Judge me as a coach – I love being on the training pitch.”

“The manager’s job has opened my eyes a bit, seeing the other side of it, there’s a lot more to it than just coaching.”

“Neil Bailey has been a big help to me. It has been a good day today.”
