Ki Sung-Yueng says there has been no contact between him and Swansea since the manager was ousted.

The South Korean looked like he had no future at Swansea after former manager Michael Laudrup sent the man who cost the club £6 million when he joined from Celtic in 2012 to Sunderland on loan.

But now Laudrup has been removed from the manager’s seat, there is speculation that Ki might just have a future at the Liberty Stadium.

That’s bad news for the Black Cats who are really interested in keeping Ki on Wearside by signing him on a permanent basis.

But when asked whether he had spoken with Swansea since the manager left, Ki said: “No, there hasn`t been anything.”

Ki told the Sunderland Echo: “I don`t make my future plans because I don`t know about my future. I had no idea I would be going to Swansea and this season I had no idea I would be coming to Sunderland. It was unexpected.

“I had to make a choice to become a better player and Sunderland gave me a hand and an opportunity.

“I don`t know about my future, I just try to do my best in every single game I have. My life is like that. I just look to do my best.’

Ki has made 28 appearances for Sunderland since joining in the summer and has scored three times.

Here’s another player that we will miss, the team will be so much poorer without him next season.
