Keane calm on decision

Roy Keane was surprisingly calm following Steve Tanner decision to allow Hunts injury time winner.

Keane told safc.com “It was poor in the first half but I thought we did a bit better in the second half.”

“We’ve got a hell of a long way to go and the challenge is to try to improve.”

“Teams have good days and bad days and we felt we could get a result here.”

“I have watched and been involved in thousands of games in my career where teams have not played particularly well but have got a result and we nearly did it.”

“No one is certain whether it crossed the line. I have seen the replay, but if they are not sure, they should not give it.”

“There were lots of decisions we felt went against us – the free-kick for the first goal and the throw-in before the second goal to name two.”

“When you go away, any team will put you under pressure but we hung in there. We got the penalty and then Kenwyne goes through one-on-one. If he passes inside to Stokesy, he has an open goal.”

“If that happens and we score, we snatch the game and lot of teams do that; it would have been a welcome result for us as well.”

“We had to go a goal behind before we reacted and we’ve done that many times this season; we could have snatched the victory and that would have been nice. We didn’t and we have to learn fast – all of us.”

“We have to take the decision. You can talk all night but it’s not going to change the decision.’
