I’m Happy At Sunderland

Stephane Sessegnon continues to be linked with a Sunderland exit, and given his expressed desire to move on its little surprise this is the case.

In his defence you can understand his reasoning for wanting to move on.

Unlike many a player they decide they want this for what they deem a “bigger and/or option” or even for “more money”, his motivation was to spend more time with his family back in France.

An exit hasn’t happened yet and he insists that he’s happy at Sunderland and is focused on the season ahead, telling the Echo: ‘The speculation is okay, I have no problem with that. But I’m happy at Sunderland.

‘We have worked well in pre-season and hopefully we can continue like this. I’m enjoying it at Sunderland and my mind is for Sunderland now.’

Sessegnon is a cracker footballer; if his mind is in the right place and he remains professional (as I’d think he will) this will be positive for Sunderland and can only benefit them.

Should this bring about his desired return to France then it would have, in theory, worked out well for the Black Cats in the intervening period.
