As expected Sunderland have sacked head coach Gus Poyet, this comes just a couple of days after capitulating in the game against Aston Villa.
Sunderland, who are trying to fight off relegation were four goals down to Villa by half time causing many fans to leave before the break and some launching attacks on the Uruguayan.
The result leaves the Black Cats clinging onto dear life just one point above the relegation places and this year have one just once, they also suffered an humiliating defeat in the FA Cup at the hands of Bradford City
Poyet took over at the helm when Paolo Di Canio was given the boot towards the end of 2013, and just 17 months later, he took training for the last time.

Sad really but it had to happen. Personally I dont think they can be saved, unless the players have just refused to play for Gus
Wonder why they let him take training before dishing out the old elbow?
To say goodbye, he knew what was coming. Its a pity, great games against Newcastle and a League Cup final. Good memories.
Good times indeed but we cant afford to go down these days, would be a major disaster to the club and the area. I cant see the club bringing in a new man before the start of next season though, they may just promote from within
He was lucky thats all, glad he has gone – no complaints from me at all
