Carl Robinson has completed a permanent move to Norwich City for a fee of around £50,000.

The midfielder has signed a 3 year deal at Carrow Road after impressing during a 2 month loan spell. His arrival at the club has coincided with their steady rise up the championship table, having only lost 2 matches whilst he has been in the side.

A recent punctured lung recieved during a game for the Canaries was not serious enough to hinder any deal, and McCarthy will hope some of the money recouped for the Welsh international will persuade chairman Bob Murray to release funds for transfers, most likely Swiss international midfielder Ricardo Cabanas.

A board meeting was scheduled for today to discuss potential moves in the transfer market, and other topics of discussion may well have included manager Mick McCarthy’s future at the club. Should any funds be released for the manager it will be the clearest sign yet that he has his board’s backing despite the club’s lowly position in the Premiership.

While McCarthy still feels he is the best man for the job, recent rumours circulating about possible successors suggest that his future will be resolved one way or the other very soon.
