Fresh Injury Concern For Coleman

Sunderland manager Chris Coleman had added another player to our walking wounded list ahead of the trip to Bristol City this weekend.

With us heading to Ashton Gate this weekend to face off against Lee Johnson’s side, Coleman told the Official Site as he met with the press today for his pre game press conference that Callum McManaman had now been ruled out with a slight injury.

The winger is however expected to return to action ahead of next weekend’s clash at the Stadium of Light against Brentford.

Lamine Kone and Marc Wilson have also been ruled out for this game, with Paddy McNair and Jonny Williams set to continue their return to fitness with the Under 23 squad when they take on Exeter City on Sunday. Brendan Galloway will also get a run out in that game.

‘Marc Wilson is still a no. Paddy McNair will get some game time with the under-23s this weekend, as will Jonny Williams and Brendan Galloway, and then Paddy will maybe need another hit with the under-23s before he comes with us or maybe a week`s training.’

The former Welsh gaffer went on to say.

‘We still don`t have Lamine and there`s no Callum McManaman either. Callum should be back next week and he`s progressed quite nicely this week.’

We’re also obviously without Robbin Ruiter following the confirmation of his lay off.

‘We think Robbin`s going to be out between eight and 12 weeks because it`s a bad dislocation, so Lee Camp and Jason Steele can fight it out. I think it was lucky that deal fell through in the end and he (Jason) looked good last week, he trained really hard and played for the under-23s and did really well.’
