Colback In Ongoing Talks

Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback is still in talks with the club about a new contract at the Stadium Of Light.

Colback reaches the end of his current contract at the end of the season, things are looking better than what they was as in the summer he was reportedly offered a contract by Paolo Di Canio which the player turned down.

Since Di Canio has left Colback is playing in his preferred midfield roll and it’s likely that he will stay with the club under the guidance of Poyet.

Colback told the Sun newspaper: ‘We’ve been in talks for a while now, it just takes time.

‘With the position the team is in there haven’t been a lot of discussions, but that’s natural.

‘When we start winning that might pick up a bit. My last contract took quite a while.’
