Cattermole Ready For The Hard Work To Come

Lee Cattermole is pretty sure that Sunderland can pull off the great escape but its going to be a hard job.

The Black Cats puled off two remarkable results over the last week and now there is a real possibility of escaping the drop into the Championship.

And the hard work will start on Sunday when Cardiff come to the Stadium of Light, Sunderland need the win to keep up their hopes, but Cardiff are also in trouble at the bottom of the table and three points for them would also prove to be invaluable.

And Sunderland have not had too much luck against the fellow struglers in the league which is why they are at the bottom of the table, but Catts knows that on Sunday they must change that.

He told the Journal: “We had a celebration in the dressing room, but it probably lasted for about a minute and then we pulled ourselves back together and said, ‘This isn`t finished yet`.

“As a group, I think we all recognised straight away that the hard work has to start here. It was a great result and it`s nice to have made that bit of history by being the first team to win at Chelsea (under Mourinho), but it`ll count for absolutely nothing if we don`t follow it up.’

So after weeks of chopping and changing Gus Poyet has found the right balance in the side, but they must put it to good use at the weekend.
