Adnan Januzaj has said that although it wasn’t the three points Sunderland wanted in our game ahead of the international break against Burnley, the performance was a ‘platform’ that the players could take confidence from and build on in the final batch of fixtures this season.

Speaking to the Official Site with the point bringing an end to our run of four straight defeats, Januzaj also knew the clean sheet was vitally important for confidence but now it was about making that count when Premier League matches return in April as we look to avoid the drop.

The on loan Manchester United man knows that it has to begin with a positive result against Watford, but it will be a tough encounter against Walter Mazzarri’s side but if we can create chances like we did in the last one and take them, we are more than capable of registering the win and all three points.

‘It won`t be easy but we have shown signs in the last few games. We know we need to keep working hard – we can do it. We played well against Burnley but we missed so many chances.’

He went on to say.

‘It was that kind of day, you can have that every now and then where you miss but hopefully in the next game everything will go in. We got the zero at the back which is good, that is the start but now we need to score goals.’

Ending by saying.

‘It hasn`t been an easy year but we have to work as a team and everything will be fine. All the players are now looking for the win, nothing else.’
