The chances of acquiring the services of Diafra Sakho have increased after West Ham revealed they are after a big money signing to boost their attack.

West Ham are looking to capture frontman Alexandre Lacazette and if they are successful then Sakho could be available for the Black Cats improved offer of £12 million.

Big Sam is looking to address the lack of goalscoring in his side which saw them fighting off relegation again last season and Sakho is one of the men that Sam thinks could provide them.

Allardyce signed Sakho for West Ham two years ago for £3.5 million and he knows the player well.

West Ham now value their striker at around the £15 million mark which means Sunderland would have to come close to or break their record transfer signing fee paid.

Sakho is said to be keen on a move away from West Ham as his appearances may be limited and this has alerted West Brom who are also interested.
