Jordan Pickford will be spending some time on loan with Burton after Sunderland agreed to loan the youngster to the League Two side.

Darlington (this one when he answered an SOS in their hour of need I’m sure) and Alfreton loans have already been undertaken by the 19-year-old last season, and he managed five cleansheets in 12 outings for the later.

Burton boss Gary Rowett said: ‘Jordan is a player of undoubted ability who I know is regarded very highly by the coaches at the Stadium of Light.

‘He’s a player with great potential and in him and Dean Lyness we now have two talented young keepers.

‘It’s a position that requires a lot of consideration and I believe Jordan has the attributes and temperament to be a really valuable addition to the squad.’

All being well the young keeper can get the first team football at the Pirelli Stadium that he needs to continue his development.
