Early squad news for the game between Liverpool and Sunderland at Anfield this Saturday

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce goes into the game with Liverpool at Anfield with doubts about Yann M’Vila and Jeremain Lens.

The two midfielders picked up injuries in the game against Manchester City, M’Vila missed training on Thursday because of a problem with his foot, while Lens is suffering from a groin injury.

But Big Sam welcomes back Younes Kaboul after his recovery from a hamstring complaint which has kept him out of action since December.

Sebastian Larsson continues to be sidelined with a knee injury.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen should be in the squad after a shoulder complaint.

And although there has been much progress with the recovery from injury of strikers Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi, they are deemed unfit for this game, but should be available for the FA Cup replay against West Ham and that’s pretty much the same story for Philippe Coutinho.

Defender Martin Skrtel will be out for two or three weeks longer after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem.

Probable Squads:

Liverpool:
Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Allen, Milner, Firmino, Lallana, Ward, Flanagan, Toure, Lucas, Ibe, Teixeira, Benteke.

Sunderland: Mannone, Pickford, Van Aanholt, Yedlin, O’Shea, Kaboul, Jones, Kone, Kirchhoff, Cattermole, M’Vila, Khazri, Lens, Borini, Johnson, Rodwell, Toivonen, Defoe, N’Doye, Watmore.
